When Jimmy Fallon announced he was coming to Indianapolis I almost shit my pants. I live over 5 hours away but I would be damned if I didn’t see him! We waited and waited to hear back and we didn’t get the tickets.Devastation doesn’t even begin to describe my emotions and I don’t care how pathetic that sounds, which is quite pathetic I know.
My gracious and loving father, however, drove me all the way there, we stayed overnight and were up the next morning first in line and hoping for standby tickets. Little did we know there were not even handing any out and on top of that there were rumors that they had reserved too many tickets for the amount of seats.

The girl second in line, the nicest girl I have ever met, gave us her two extra tickets! We waited in line for another 5 hours and then waited around the city for another 6. Then when we got in we realized our seats were in the front row.

The hall was beautiful but they didn’t allow pictures. However I did manage to sneak a couple. One of the most amazing things about our show was that Will Forte showed up just because he happened to be in the city and sang for us! Then Seth Herzog warmed up the show and The Roots played INCREDIBLY! It was also James’ birthday so he had a dance off with a couple audience members!
Then Jimmy walked out. We were so close! He was hilarious in the monologue and so so incredibly good looking in person! Bob Costas was there instead of Higgens and they joked together and then because it was Friday we got to see him do thank you notes!!
At the following commercial break the girls I was sitting with who gave us the tickets and I all shouted WE LOVE YOU JIMMY and he waved at us. She screamed, “HES SEEN MY FACE HE KNOWS ITS BROWN!” And I just couldn’t speak at all!
We each had a Rowdy Rag under our chair and when they showed the audience reaching for them, they zoomed in on my face!!

Then they did Models and Buckets which was hideously smelly in the first row which ended up being fabulous because Jimmy walked to the end of the stage to show us the list of what was in each bucket and said, “A lot of people think we rig this but it really isn’t!” So we all stood up and at first he thought we were trying to take the card from him but then he hi-fived us.
Shaq shows up to make good on his bet in a bikini! Just one row over from me Shaquille O’Neil is in a bikini!
Snoop Dogg did a hilarious interview and at the commercial break they smoked Snoop’s drug rolling papers stuff (don’t worry there was no weed in it!) and they pretended to get high and pretended to get one of the Late Night Flying Monkeys high too.
The musical guest was Fitz and the Tantrums and I had never really listened to them but they were super super amazing!
After the show came the best part. I had seen it happen at the end of every episode and longed for it to be me and now it was my turn! He was running through the audience hi-fiving everyone. I was in front so I stood at the bottom staring up at him as he approached. We all forced our way out to the aisle and waited. When came to us three they each hugged him. Then he turned to me. He hugged me. Hugged. Me.
I was the last person he came to and right after our hug he jumped onto the stage and danced and jumped all over while The Roots blared. He started playing the keyboard the musical guest had left behind and then revealed the sketch of The Voice that would air during the Live Super Bowl episode.
greatest night of my life
Since then he has also read my tweet!!!
